Trapped Nerve / Sciatica
Symptoms:-
Pins and needles.
Acute and severe pain along a nerve root - this can be either in the arm or leg.
Possibly muscle weakness.
Difficulty finding comfortable position (this tends to be caused by pressure on a nerve usually possibly from a disc.
Treatment:-
Appropriate medication in the acute phase.
Gradual exercise programme.
Encourage movement
Resting positions.
Progression then to:-
Specific exercises
Joint mobilisations and massage.
Postural advice.
Workstation advice.
