Pilates

At The Cloisters we offer a structured Beginners Course of one hour a week for 6 weeks. An individual assessment is undertaken prior to participation in the course in order that maximum benefit can be derived from attendance.

The Beginners Course will:-

  • Introduce and explain the principles of Pilates.
  • Assist the individual to identify isolate and strengthen the muscles that support the body and power all Pilates movements.
  • Encourage good postural habit.
  • Help to improve good breathing technique and reduce tension.
  • Work towards the individual achievement of good, beneficial movement without pain, allowing each person to progress at a suitable level by introducing new movements at the appropriate time.
  • Aim to restore confidence and a sense of well being.

For those who complete the beginners course and wish to progress further an Intermediate Course is available which builds upon and develops the work and achievement of the Beginners Course.
