Groin

A
groin strain is usually a bruise, stretching or tear of the muscle fibres
running from the pelvis to the inside of the thigh.
It is very common in sporting activities and is caused by such things as inadequate warm up, sudden dynamic movements or overuse. It produces pain in the groin area causing you to stop, or at least slow down your movements. Groin strains can take some time to settle, keeping athletes off their sports for weeks or sometimes months. Physiotherapy
may include electrotherapy for pain relief and to facilitate healing,
joint and muscle mobilising techniques and muscle rehabilitation to restore
flexibility and control to the muscles around the hip and pelvis. |
